Jointly hosted by China International Electronic Commerce Center and 16+1 Think Tanks Network, and under the guidance of the Ministry of Commerce of China, the 2018 16+1 E-commerce Development Conference was held successfully in Chengdu, Sichuan, on June 15th.
The event counted over 300 participants, including government officials, business associations, entrepreneurs and think tank experts. Participants discussed the 16+1 development model of e-commerce cooperation and ways to promote the multilateral/bilateral e-commerce cooperation. The conference has also received supports from Sichuan Provincial Department of Commerce and People’s Government of Wuhou District etc.

During the conference, a panel discussion was held on “How to promote 16+1 regional digital commerce cooperation and development”. The discussion was moderated by Professor Kong Tianping from European institute, CASS, and was joined by diplomats and experts from Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Slovakia and Serbia.
Another highlight of the conference was the Public-Private Dialog on “Cooperation in the New Economic Area”. Guests from China and CEECs got together to discuss topics on Smart Culture and Tourism, New Retailing and VR applications.
Also, for the first time of the conference, a theme exhibition was launched. Exquisite pictures from the guests of honor, the Baltic States (Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania) were displayed to show attendants the trade, culture, tourism etc. of these countries.
